ClickFunnels is the best and most used funnel builder software out there, but it’s also a bit expensive. When you are new to online marketing, you usually have more time than money.
As you may know, to become a successful entrepreneur, you need to trade your time and money into success. In the beginning you have little money, so you need to work more and harder and trade your time against success.
After some time when you have gained some income, you can spend that money to grow your business further. This is the most common method and also the safest way to become a successful entrepreneur.
ClickFunnels Etison Suite
The ClickFunnels Etison Suite or the premium package as its also named is expensive. It cost $297 a month, but you receive almost everything you need to run your website. You receive:
- Page builder
- Funnel builder
- Affiliate center
- Membership site
- A shopping cart that integrates with most payment processors.
- And more
What about the people that don’t need everything and want to save some money? You can trade your time and choose ClickFunnels starter pack and use a cheaper autoresponder to send your emails.
ClickFunnels ShareFunnel plan
ClickFunnels have a sharefunnel plan to $19 that some people want, and this is mostly because they believe they can have 3 funnels. This is right, but there are more limitations than that. You can’t have more than 10 pages, and you can only edit the pages you have received in the share funnels.
This plan is a great method to begin with ClickFunnels and learn to use the software, but not for building a business. I recommend you to go for the starter plan.
So how do you do that?
The ClickFunnels For Beginners On Budget Strategy
To have a website you need:
- Domain name
- Email address so you can communicate with your leads
- Autoresponder to mass send emails to your leads
- A website builder
Your domain name
When you join ClickFunnels, you will receive a free domain. You can choose to use this domain, but using ClickFunnels as domain registrant is not straight forward.
ClickFunnels is mainly a funnel builder software, not a domain registrant. So by using ClickFunnels, they have made it easy to order a domain and use it, but not transfer your domain away from ClickFunnels. I don’t think they do it wrong willingly, but they are just not that type of company and don’t spend their resources on the domain process.
That’s why I recommend you to order your domain at NameCheap that have this as their main product and then also have the processes in place to easily handle domain names.
Another thing is that domain names are cheap, you need to pay around $10 a year, a small price to pay to have your domain names not locked to one paid provider like ClickFunnels.
Your Email Address
You need an email address, and you want to avoid a Gmail address. A Gmail address will not look professional, and you will struggle with your autoresponder.
You can order an email address at NameCheap for $10/year. An easy and cheap solution to get a professional email address. By using NameCheap for both your email and domain, everything is set up for you automatically.
Autoresponder for mass sending emails
You need to have an autoresponder. You don’t want to follow up your leads by sending email to each one manually. This will work for the first 10, but you will save yourself a lot of time by using a software, and you need it.
I recommend you to take a look at GetResponse. They have been around for some time and is affiliate marketing friendly. Many autoresponders don’t allow affiliate marketing and have systems that detect affiliate links. You don’t want to change autoresponder after some time because your account is suddenly shut down.
GetResponse is also affordable, so I use them and recommend them, but most autoresponders will be able to integrate with ClickFunnels. You can read about recommended autoresponders here.
Now we need a website builder to build our pages and funnels. This will be ClickFunnels where you choose the starter plan that costs $97 each month.

How to Implement ClickFunnels on budget
You have now learned about the different services you need to start your business on a budget. Now it’s time to take action!
Step 1: Join ClickFunnels 14 day free trial

Step 2: Buy a domain name and email address
Go to NameCheap or other providers you use for domain names. Find an available domain name that fits what you are going to sell or do. I recommend you to use a .com domain.
When you order, add email to your order. If you use Namecheap on both services, the email will work without extra configuration.

Step 4: Order and connect your autoresponder to ClickFunnels
Now you need to order an autoresponder and connect it to ClickFunnels. I recommend you to use Getresponse.

Step 5: Create your funnel
Now it’s time to create your funnel. You can start with the templates given to you by ClickFunnels or use the share funnels I have given to you as a bonus.
Do some changes regarding words and images, so the page fit your style and offer. You will also receive a course on how to use ClickFunnels that will help you design your page and funnels.
One mistake I see many people do is to overdo the colors. Try to keep it simple in the beginning.

Step 6: Write a follow-up series
Now you need to go to GetResponse and create your automation. Again I recommend you to create simple automation where you send a series of emails to people who join your list. If you are selling something, I recommend you to create two different lists.
One for those who have subscribed and one for those who have purchased from you. This applies only if you are selling something. To avoid those who purchase being on both lists, you can set them in the automation to be removed if they are on your purchase list.
Then they subscribe to your list, send them what you have promised to give them. After that, you are sending a series of emails that is called soap opera email sequence. You can read more about them in DotCom Secret. After that, you tag them and move them to a broadcast list where you are sending daily Seinfeld emails. Also something you can read more about in DotCom Secrets.
For those who have purchased from you, you still need to send them what you promised them, and I also recommend you to send them the soap opera email sequence to tell them how awesome the product you just bought is, but you don’t need a call to action this time. You should then teach them more about the product to help them use it and understand the value of it. That way your customer will use it and hopefully not demand a refund.
After a time you want to move them to your broadcast list.
To begin with, you only want to create a couple of emails, so you stay ahead of your subscribers. You add more when people join. You first need to validate that people are joining your list.
Step 7: Get people to your offer
You are now finished, and now it’s time to get people to your offer. There are many ways you can do that. Some of them are:
- Facebook ads
- Google Ads
- Solo Ads
- Instagram ads
- Influencers on Instagram
- Social media networking
- Answering questions on different platforms like Quora
What I recommend is to do publishing, and you can start with it on day one, before step 1. You want to build an audience that will follow you and buy from you. You can do it by writing on Medium.com, podcasting, or do videos on Youtube or Facebook.
You want to create your 1000 true fans.
Step 8: Analyse how your funnel is performing and optimize
You want to monitor how your funnel is performing. Create a split test of each page. The first time you do several different changes, both in headlines, wording, images, and colors. This is advice from Russell Brunson, the co-founder of Clickfunnels.
When you see witch one that performs the best, you choose the winner, and you only want to change one thing and test. That way, you know what is working and what is not working.
ClickFunnels is an awesome product, but the price can be a bit high for beginners. You have now learned how to do it at a more affordable price but with a bit more work from you to connect everything. You can upgrade to the ClickFunnels Etison Suite later when you are generating some income.
