Re: Acceptable Use Violation Detected

Hi.

Once I got an email from MailChimp that my account has been disabled..

With the same topic as this email.

I was surprised and shocked since I have used them for some time.

When I logged in to my account, I got the same message and most of my automation was on pause. I was also unable to make more or unpause the automation.

You see, I was into e-commerce at that time and that’s why I used MailChimp. MailChimp is pretty good at that. Maybe the best if you consider the price.

But now most of my emails was disabled, the same with all the emails that were going out to new and previous customers.

In the email, it was a link to their terms of service and after some reading, I understood why my account was disabled.

MailChimp doesn’t like affiliate marketing..

And I had just made some emails where I linked to an affiliate offer.

Maybe I had avoided this if I used link cloaking, but I didn’t know MailChimp rules against affiliate marketing.

I also shouldn’t use the same account for e-commerce and affiliate marketing.

I learned two things that day..

Back to my restricted account. I deleted the affiliate emails and asked the security adviser at MailChimp for forgiveness.

And forgiveness I got, but I still needed an autoresponder for affiliate marketing.

After I tested a couple of autoresponders I found one that I liked.

And I did read their terms of service this time.

GetResponse is affiliate marketing friendly. No rules against it as long you don’t spam.

I still use GetResponse today and recommend it to others.

And if you want to try GetResponse, you can get 30 days free trial here.

And if you order with my link, I can even give you an email marketing course for beginners that is based GetResponse.

My mistake was not a big none. I got my account back the day after and I didnt put much work in my affiliate marketing business at that time.

You don’t want to receive that message after a lot of work. It takes times to move from one autoresponder to another so this is something you don’t want to do often.

And you don’t want your account disabled..

So if you are into affiliate marketing, try getresponse!

Thanks
Richard
